little red buttons

Happy Halloween!

We dressed Milo up in his bumble bee costume bright and early this morning and we’ve been visiting friends and family the length and breadth of, well, Nottingham.  By the way, does anyone have any idea how to photograph an 18 month old in full costume?  Any tips or tricks are more than welcomed!

Trick or treat!

whosincharge

No, seriously.  Who’s in charge around here?  An empty dog dish isn’t the kind of treat I had in mind.

Ready for home.

I wasn’t sure if we were going to get any trick or treaters of our own this year, but I was quietly optimistic and stocked up on treats just in case.  And so far…7 lovely little lads and lasses have come to our door!

choices

Here’s Milo sifting through our candy bowl.  How weird and oddly sad, to think that he’ll grow up eating Cadbury’s Chocolate Buttons and Curly Wurly’s instead of Hersheys chocolate bars and York Peppermint Patties.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Oh, I love his costume, so cute! Glad you had fun yesterday!
Even though Halloween is not all that popular here, we got 3 groups of trick and treaters knocking on our door last night shouting “Snoep of je leven!” (candy or your life!). Una was very amused (and scared :) ) by their costumes.

Looks adorable Abby! What about Milky Ways or Wopper’s or Twix or Reese’s – are you deprived of all these things over there? If so, we must launch a rescue immediately!!

We have a version of Milky Way but it’s called a Mars bar here, and it’s not as good and a version of Whopper’s called Maltesers, which are better! We do get Twix and you can sometimes find Reese’s, but I mostly miss anything licorce (Nibs anyone??) and Sour Patch Kids, since every sour candy here is disgusting. Wow, I could talk candy all day long!
